Statewide Newsletter – April 2014

Dear Green Chamber Members and Friends,

Spring is here and the Green Chamber is moving into high gear. We are excited to be participating in the one-year anniversary of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument with a celebration at Taos Mesa Brewery on April 5th. Not only do National Monuments preserve public lands for future generations, they also help local businesses and grow our tourism and recreation industries in New Mexico. We are hopeful that the spring will also bring news of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument designation in Southern New Mexico.

April also brings Earth Day, April 22nd, and you will see that our chapters are participating in local events around the state that support and promote green businesses and our many community partnerships. Please look at the news and events for your chapter to find out what activities are going on near you.

This spring the Green Chamber is excited to make some announcements that we hope will improve our communication with members, starting with a new newsletter format. Over the next few months, we will be looking for ways to better communicate from our chapters to the state, all of the exciting work we are doing. We invite your feedback and hope that you will help us to build a stronger and more effective network for green and sustainable businesses in New Mexico.

We would also like to congratulate our Statewide Sponsor Positive Energy Solar for being named SunPower 2013 Residential National Dealer of the Year. A great representation of green leadership in our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our mission.

Kind Regards,

Robert White
President, NM Green Chamber of Commerce
